Doctoral Colloquium organized in cooperation with Bielefeld University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts

Sponsored by DAAD and organized by TGU PhD in Business Administration Program, and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Bielefeld University, the doctoral colloquium for the Fall Semester of the 2024-2025 academic year was held on 23 October 2024 on the campus of TGU. The event started with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Hermann Jahnke from Bielefeld University and Prof. Dr. Rıza Öztürk from Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the partner of the program, and continued with the introduction of the opportunities and facilities offered by DAAD, Bielefeld University and the partner university for visiting researchers. Then, the students of TGU PhD in Business Administration Program introduced themselves and presented their academic areas of interest.
In the second part of the event, participants from Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts shared examples of their current research activities. In this context, Prof. Dr. Vivian Carstensen made a presentation on her study titled “Determinants of Entrepreneurial Intentions” and PhD student Eliza Starke presented her study titled “It's a Green Value Match”.
In the last part of the event, participants from the Turkish German Universityshared examples of their current research activities. In this context, Ebru Vehibe Bekar, one of the students of the PhD in Business Administration Program, made a presentation on her study titled “How does the application of gamification influence students' understanding of accounting and tax applications in the context of university educational settings?”, while Ferhat Sayın, one of the students of the program, made a presentation on his study titled “Evaluating the Competencies of Entry-Level Logistics Professionals in Turkey: Perspectives from Logistics Executives”. Erencan Yavrucu, one of the students of TGU PhD in Business Administration Program, made a presentation on his study titled “Social Sustainability-integrated Vehicle Allocation Problem and a Heuristic Solution Algorithm”. The event ended with the presentation of Mustafa Murat Cerit, Lecturer at TGU Department of Business Administration, on his study titled “Comparison of Brands' Crisis Communication Strategies before, during and after COVID-19 Pandemic”.
